CFGA TREE SEED WORKING GROUP

CFGA’s Tree Seed Working Group (TSWG) has been active since 1983.  Members are from Canada, United States, Europe and several other countries. The TSWG hosts workshops in conjunction with CFGA conferences and publishes news bulletins.

Tree Seed Workshop: Monday July 10, 2023, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM

Location: Prestige Vernon Lodge and Conference Centre, 3914 - 32nd Street, Vernon, BC V1T 5P1

Cost: $75 per person, lunch included. There is an option to register for Monday only, as well as in addition to the main conference ticket. All are welcome. Register here.

Objectives

The Tree Seed Working Group has four objectives on promoting tree seed science and technology through

  • Seed research from bud initiation to seed use
  • Identification of seed problems relating to tree improvement and forest management
  • Exchange of information on seed related problems
  • Advising on implementation practices

Our all-day workshop will feature themed sessions and demonstrations on:

  • Reproductive Biology and Seed Orchard Practices
  • Seed Testing and Use
  • Genetic Conservation and Restoration
  • Low Tech Tools and Techniques
